Job Description

The Communications Assistant provides support to the cooperatives marketing initiatives and aids the Corporate Communications Specialist in promoting the understanding and acceptance of the Cooperative philosophy by members, employees, and the general public. Aids in the communications efforts of the entire cooperative thereby alleviating the workload and, at the same time, provides more production for all departments. Handles member communications, including incoming email and phone requests. Assists with the monthly publication of the Peoples Powerline. Assists with the maintenance of People's Electric Cooperative's (PEC's) Intranet and Internet websites. Assists with the creation and development of the video production and photography needs of the cooperative.

Job Related Qualifications

  • Prefer a highly creative and effective communicator with an interest in technology and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office are desired, along with experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, typing skills, and a pleasing personality.
  • Should be able to work both independently and with a team.
  • Must be available to work on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week on a work schedule as determined by the Cooperative.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and carrying a reasonable distance.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Drivers License.
