Juniors Reagan Dominic from Stuart High School, Wyatt Morris from Vanoss High School and Aubrey Pope from Byng High School have been chosen as delegates to the annual Washington D.C. Youth Tour, an all-expense paid leadership experience coordinated by the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives and sponsored by People’s Electric Cooperative (PEC).
Since 1964, more than 50,000 young Americans have taken advantage of this special opportunity offered by their local electric cooperative. PEC alone has sent 113 students since 1964.
“To be chosen for the trip is a real honor,” PEC’s vice-president of corporate communications and community relations Jennifer Boeck said. “Particularly since applicants vie for the coveted three spots alongside other teens across PEC’s eleven county service area who are community volunteers, student athletes, and members of respected academic organizations such as National Honor Society, student council, Future Business Leaders of America, and Future Farmers of America, among many other prized clubs and associations.”
Approximately 200 juniors were presented the Youth Tour opportunity to local schools during January, and during February just over 85 students sat for a written test over materials about rural electrification. At the conclusion of the testing dates, an invitation was extended to the students receiving the top 10 scores on the test in order to compete in a final interview competition. PEC’s three winning delegates Dominic, Morris and Pope were selected by a panel of judges based on their poise, originality and personality during their personal interviews.
Also representing their respective schools in the interview portion of the contest were the following finalists: 1st Alternate, Lyra Estes, Ada High School; 2nd Alternate, Lexy Rogers, Tishomingo High School; Matthew Anderson, Ada High School; Aiden Ayers, Holdenville High School; Cade Frye, Byng High School; Jaxson Sorenson, Ada High School; Ava Thompson, Byng High School.
About the Delegates
Reagan Dominic of Stuart High School is an active leader in both academics and extracurricular activities. She is involved in a variety of organizations, including the Varsity Softball Team, which won the 2024 OSSAA Class B Fastpitch Softball State Championship. She also plays on the Varsity Basketball Team and is a dedicated member of FFA, the Scholastic Team, National Honor Society, and Gifted & Talented. Academically driven, Reagan maintains a 4.1 GPA, ranks #1 in her class, and takes concurrent college courses through Carl Albert State College. She has verbally committed to continuing her academic and athletic career at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. A talented performer, Reagan was also a state finalist in the Oklahoma FFA State Talent Show during her sophomore year, where she sang with her school’s FFA Chapter Band. She is the daughter of David and Leyna Dominic.
Wyatt Morris of Vanoss Public Schools is known for his outgoing personality, determination, and leadership qualities. He takes great pride in always being well-prepared and knowledgeable about any situation he encounters. When he becomes passionate about something, he dedicates himself fully—practicing, studying, and refining his skills until he masters it. His strong interest in both law and mathematics stems from their structured, problem-solving nature, which aligns with his analytical mindset. Wyatt plans to attend either Baylor University or Oklahoma State University to study Aerospace Engineering, with the goal of later pursuing law school. Beyond academics, Wyatt is a skilled competitive shooter, having won two events at a national shooting competition. He has also recently taken up bowling and has made remarkable progress in the sport. Those who know him—whether at home, school, or on the many teams he is part of—describe him as charismatic, intelligent, and a natural leader. Passionate about making a difference both in his state and on a national level, Wyatt believes his people skills and drive will help him achieve that goal. He is the son of David and Christy Morris.
Aubrey Pope of Byng High School is a dedicated and meticulous student who takes pride in her education. She works hard to meet deadlines and maintain top grades, valuing both the learning experience and the opportunity to interact with her peers. Aubrey plans to major in business and obtain her real estate license, with the goal of working at a brokerage firm while earning her degree. Outside of academics, Aubrey enjoys baking, cooking, and staying active. She finds joy in providing for others through her culinary skills and recently began working out with her mom, which has become both a physically and relationally rewarding experience. Known for her fun-loving personality, Aubrey thrives on laughter, making new friends, and spending quality time with loved ones. To her, the perfect day would be spent baking, cooking, and working out with friends and family. She is the daughter of Alisha Frederickson and Justin Pope.
Each year, PEC’s Youth Tour contest is open to 11th grade students enrolled in school (or homeschool) systems located in one of the 11 counties served by PEC.
