People's Electric Cooperative (PEC)’s Annual Meeting is all set for Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex in Ada. Commonly referred to as “PEC Day,” it is easily the most important day of the year for the cooperative. “We couldn’t be more excited to bring PEC Day to our members and the communities we serve this year. From excellent food and beautiful crafts to free live entertainment and kids’ activities, along with prize drawings including a $1,000 giveaway, few family-oriented events come along like PEC Day,” said Kevin Wood, CEO and Executive Vice President. 231601800
Registration Gift
A registration card will appear in this year’s annual meeting program that will arrive in your mailbox during September. bring it with you to the annual meeting to be registered in the day’s prize drawings including the $1,000 grand prize giveaway (must be present to win). The first 2,000 members to register will receive a portable rechargeable LED work light (at right).
Drive Thru Registration
PEC Day goers should be aware that again this year registration will be drive-thru only. “All PEC Day traffic will enter from the westbound lane of Lonnie Abbott Boulevard,” said Wood.
After presenting an annual meeting program and receiving the registration gift, 2 options will be available at the drive-thru registration:
- Park your car and stay to enjoy the entertainment and craft and food vendors; or
- Simply ‘drive-thru’ and continue on around the Agri-Plex to the Exit on North Broadway Avenue.
You Get The Credit
Recognizing the evolving needs and preferences of our members, PEC has introduced a more convenient way for our members to receive their capital credit retirements. Instead of the old method of mailing checks, which required our members to take those checks to a financial institution to deposit and/or cash, members will now receive a bill credit directly to their PEC account for their capital credit retirement. “These credits will be reflected on your September bill, corresponding to your August usage, offering a seamless and hassle-free experience and providing quicker access to your return.” Wood added.
For amounts $600 or more, PEC will continue to issue physical checks. Members can expect those checks to arrive by mid-September via US mail to the last valid address we have on file. Former members, who no longer have a bill where credits can be applied, will receive a check in the mail. This approach balances our member’s desire for efficiency with our commitment to providing the highest level of service to members.
