In a move aimed at streamlining operations and improving member convenience, People’s Electric Cooperative (PEC) announces a significant update to its capital credits payment process. Starting this year all capital credits amounting to less than $600 will be issued as a bill credit to members’ September bill.
Traditionally, members received capital credits in the form of physical checks, requiring additional steps such as depositing or cashing them. However, recognizing the evolving needs and preferences of our membership, PEC has introduced a more convenient method by issuing bill credits for amounts less than $600. These credits will be reflected on your September bill, corresponding to your August usage, offering a seamless and hassle-free experience and providing quicker access to your return.
For amounts of $600 or more, PEC will continue to issue physical checks. Members can expect those checks to arrive by mid-September via US mail to the last valid address we have on file. Former members, who no longer have a bill where credits can be applied, will receive a check in the mail. PEC’s Annual Meeting registration will once again be conducted exclusively through our convenient drive-thru system, designed to streamline the process and reduce congestion at the entrance of the Big Red Barn.
