Members who upgrade or install new high-efficiency heat pump systems, electric water heaters or whole-home generators in their homes will want to take advantage of People's Electric Cooperative (PEC)’s rebate program, and make sure their equipment meets the specified energy efficiency ratings.
Heat Pumps
- Air-to-air, dual fuel or ground water source heat pumps - $100 per ton
- Geothermal - $200 per ton
Qualifications:
- Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 14 or greater
- 5 year manufacturer’s warranty
- Agree to participate in PEC’s Load Management Program
- Rebates must be paid within 6 months of installation
- Both the condensing unit (outside) and air handler (inside) must be replaced on split systems
Water Heaters
- First time installation or replacement of gas units with electric – $100
Qualifications:
- At least a 40 gallon tank
- 5 year manufacturer’s warranty
- Agree to participate in PEC’s Load Management Program
- Rebates must be paid within 6 months of installation
- On demand water heater systems do not qualify
Whole-Home Generator Rebate
- $500 per appliance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 20 kilowatts
- Permanently installed according to the National Electric Safety Code certified by a licensed electrician
